Please join us in celebrating our 2027 District Behavioral Health Professional of the Year — Ms. Logan Downes! 🎉

Similar to last year, due to DOE’s differing timeline for BHPOY compared to Support Staff of the Year and Teacher of the Year, this announcement is made earlier than the rest.

A special thank you to our 2027 nominees and to our supportive staff who were a part of this wonderful recognition 🐾

🐾🎉 DAWGs of the Day: Angie Brumbley & Ben Wenke! 🎉🐾

Today we’re celebrating an outstanding team at Laurel High School—Mrs. Angie Brumbley and Mr. Ben Wenke, our DAWGs of the Day! 🏆🔬

This dynamic duo exemplifies the power of a co-taught classroom, where both educators bring deep content expertise and a shared commitment to supporting every student at high levels. Their partnership is seamless—each teacher actively instructing, facilitating, and pushing learning forward in ways that elevate the entire classroom experience.

Together, they create a learning environment grounded in the Cycle of Teaching—featuring strong lesson essential questions, structured collaboration, graphic organizers, and higher-order thinking in every lesson. Students are consistently challenged to think critically, engage deeply, and demonstrate their understanding, resulting in meaningful and rigorous learning for all. 🌟

Mrs. Brumbley and Mr. Wenke show what’s possible when collaboration is intentional and expectations are high—their classroom is a model of excellence, engagement, and impact. 💙🐶

Last night at the BoImage attachmentImage attachment+6Image attachment

Last night at the Board of Education meeting, we were proud to recognize our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards participants, Elizabeth Quinn, Devin Byers, Micah Niblett, and Kayli Moyer, for representing Laurel with excellence.

These students shared meaningful insight into their RYLA experience and reflected on the valuable lessons, leadership skills, and personal growth they gained through the program. We are so proud of the way they represented our school community!

A special thank you to the Rotary Club for the invitation and opportunity, as well as to Cari Miller and Laurel High School administration for their continued support in helping our students grow as leaders.
