With most power outa

With most power outages across the district reportedly restored and roads mostly clear, the Laurel School District will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, February 26. The additional time will provide our contractors and young drivers more daylight to become reacclimated and help ensure a safe arrival for all.

Please note the adjusted opening times:
Laurel Middle/High School (LMHS) – Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Laurel Elementary School (LEIS) – Doors open at 10:40 a.m.
North Laurel Early Learning Academy (NLELA) – Doors open at 10:40 a.m.
There will be no AM Pre-K, and breakfast will not be served tomorrow.

If any staff members are still experiencing power-related challenges, please contact your direct supervisor. If students are still without power or facing related concerns, families should contact their child’s school directly.

We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we transition safely back to normal operations.

INSTANT ALERT CALL scheduled for 4 pm:

Due to ongoing power outages in parts of our community, as well as some roads that still require attention, Laurel School District will have a remote learning day tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25.
We want to do what we can to continue instruction while ensuring the safety of our students and staff.

We trust that our local energy providers will restore the remaining homes without power this evening. However, if your household is still without power, please know that our schools will work with your student to ensure assignments can be completed and submitted without penalty.

At this time, we fully anticipate returning to in-person instruction on Thursday, February 26. Should conditions require a delay, we will communicate that decision as early as possible.

Thank you for your patience and partnership as our community recovers.
